Jill Paquette’s love of music began at a very early age, when she began taking classical piano lessons at the age of three. However, it wasn’t until years later, when she gave an impromptu performance at a coffeehouse while attending Bible college, that her career really began. After that performance, Jill began playing and touring with a band before cutting a demo and being signed to a label in Nashville. * Born in British Columbia, Canada, with French-Canadian, European and Native American roots, Jill incorporates the variety of her heritage into a rich organic sound. She not only performs, but composes her own music on both piano and acoustic guitar. She enjoys expressing her thoughts and beliefs through music. In a conversation there can be that fear that the words won’t come out quite right, but songs are something entirely different. “I’ve had a while to think about the lyrics,” she says, “so I’m always glad people want to hear my heart that way, because I think I’m better at sharing it.” * Her first self-titled album just released this past summer. She recorded some of it in Canada and some in Nashville. “The making of this album, from the writing to the traveling, has been such a valuable experience for me,” she says. “What has made this so worthwhile is the work God has done in me through this opportunity. Through the songs and the album, I have been able to see that God works all things for His purposes.”
